DAHI WALE AALOO ( दही वाले आलू )
Aaloo or potatoes is one the most versatile ingredient for any recipe and everyone's favorite, mine too😋. This recipe of Dahi wale aaloo is a very quick and easy one and liked by all.
Ingredients:
Baby Potatoes - 6-8
Curd (thick and not too sour) - 1/2 cup
Cream (Malai) - 1 tbsp
Garam Masala powder - 1 sp
Kashmiri Red chilly powder - 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Dry red chilli whole - 2-3
Cumin seed - 1 tsp
Bay leaf - 1-2
Chopped coriander for garnishing
Oil for deep frying and tadka
Method:
1- Boil potatoes and peel them.
2- Deep fry these potatoes till golden and drain on a kitchen towel .
3- Mix curd, Malai (optional if you don't like it too sour as Malai/cream cuts the sourness of curd) garam masala, and chilli powder in a bowl and keep aside.
4- Now heat a pan and add 2 tbsp oil and heat it, now add whole red chillies, bay leaf and cumin seed, let it splutter and now add the mixture of curd and spices and simmer it for a while. When the curd starts boiling add the fried potatoes and salt, mix it well and cover the lid for 5-8 mins or till the curd is reduced fully.
5- Dahi wale aaloo is ready, serve it garnished with finely chopped coriander.
